Saudi Arabia allows women to marry foreign nationals

Saudi Arabia has amended its laws letting women tie the knot with foreign nationals, 24NewsHd Tv channel reported on Saturday.
A Saudi woman can marry a citizen from another state under some conditions. Dr Naif Al-Zafiri, an adviser on domestic affairs, says that the purpose of the marriage conditions of a Saudi woman with a foreigner is to provide protection to the woman.
These prerequisites are; She should not be younger than 25 years old and older than 50 years old if the suitor is not born in Saudi Arabia.
The age difference between the prospective couple should not be more than 15 years. She should be living in Riyadh city or one of its suburbs.
The female guardian should send a request letter to His Royal Highness Prince of the region.
The groom, a candidate for marriage, should be a resident of the country and has a good livelihood so that he can support his wife better.
The legal expert further said that marriage permission i.e. NOC is approached from the concerned body where the application of the aspirant for marriage is approved after examining the prescribed conditions.
