Strict security and traffic arrangements in place as ICC Champions Trophy 2025 kicks off today in Karachi

As the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 officially begins today, Karachi is set to host the much-anticipated opening clash between Pakistan and New Zealand at the National Bank Stadium.

With thousands of cricket fans expected to attend, authorities have implemented a comprehensive traffic and security plan to ensure smooth proceedings.

According to the issued guidelines, designated parking areas for general spectators include China Ground, the National Coaching Centre, and the Expo Centre. Meanwhile, VIPs and individuals with special passes will have exclusive parking inside the stadium premises.

Despite the large influx of attendees, all roads surrounding the stadium will remain open to traffic. However, commuters using Sir Shah Suleman Road are advised to take alternate routes during match hours to avoid congestion.

For vehicle entry, only VIP and sticker/pass-holding vehicles will be granted access through Gate No. 8. General spectators can enter the stadium through the main entrance and Gates 04, 05, 06, 12, 13, and 14.

Security protocols will be strictly enforced, with all attendees required to undergo thorough checks at entrance gates. To facilitate smooth entry, fans are advised to arrive well in advance, as all stadium gates will open three hours before the match begins.

To enter the venue, spectators must carry their original CNIC. Additionally, only physical match tickets (hard copies) will be accepted at the gates, as online or digital tickets will not be valid for entry.

In a move to enhance security, authorities have also imposed a strict ban on drone cameras within and around the stadium premises.
