Woman booked for physically abusing Bykea rider in Islamabad

A case has been registered against a woman for physically assaulting and abusing a Bykea rider in Islamabad, following a viral video that sparked outrage on social media, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.

The FIR was lodged at a women's police station in Islamabad, and police have begun raids to arrest the accused woman, identified as Masooma Bibi, a resident of Bani Gala.

The incident, which took place on Tuesday outside Polyclinic Hospital, was captured in a viral video showing the woman shouting, hurling insults, and physically attacking the Bykea rider after a minor accident.

In the footage, the woman can be seen furiously yelling at the rider while he remains calm. She attempts to damage his bike and continues to verbally abuse him. "My car is more precious than your bike," she was heard screaming.

Bystanders tried to calm the situation, but the woman persisted in her aggressive behaviour before finally leaving in her car.

The video triggered widespread criticism, with many calling out class privilege and elite arrogance in Pakistan. Social media users applauded the rider for his composure while demanding action against the woman.

The absence of traffic police at the scene was also noted, with many tagging Islamabad Police and urging them to hold the woman accountable.

Authorities are actively pursuing her arrest, and further developments are expected soon.
