Barrister Abid highlights major challenges faces by overseas Pakistanis

The recently-held convention of overseas Pakistanis has once again proved that the dynamic leadership of Qamar Raza is widely accepted and respected. The successful event was seen as a reflection of the confidence that millions of Pakistanis living abroad place in his vision, dedication, and tireless service.

Reflecting on the convention, Barrister Abid Hussain, a leading advocate for overseas Pakistanis, congratulated Qamar Raza on bringing together such a large number of participants. He stated that this achievement is living proof of the trust reposed in Qamar Raza’s leadership. “Overseas Pakistanis are the backbone of the national economy,” Barrister Abid Hussain remarked, “and their unshakable bond with Pakistan is unbreakable, no matter how many thousands of miles away they may live.”

He pointed out that overseas Pakistanis are not only a source of vital remittances that keep Pakistan’s economy afloat but also act as true ambassadors of Pakistan across the globe. Through their hard work, professionalism, and success stories, they elevate the country’s image internationally. He added that, in difficult times, it is often overseas Pakistanis who come to Pakistan’s rescue, whether through financial assistance, humanitarian support, or by mobilising resources for national crises.

Barrister Abid Hussain highlighted the severe challenges faced by Pakistanis living abroad, including bureaucratic hurdles, property disputes, lack of facilitation at airports, and the neglect shown towards their legitimate concerns by government institutions. He stressed that overseas Pakistanis deserve not only respect but also a structured system that protects their investments and ensures their voices are heard at the highest levels of decision-making.

He further said that the unity being created under Qamar Raza’s leadership was a source of strength and pride. More importantly, Qamar Raza has successfully shifted the negative narrative about Pakistan to a positive and forward-looking one, showing the world that Pakistan is not a country of crisis alone, but a nation of resilience, progress, and opportunity.

During the convention, glowing tributes were paid to overseas Pakistanis, recognising them as the lifeline of the country’s struggling economy. Participants demanded that the government of Pakistan must finally acknowledge the sacrifices of its diaspora and treat them as equal stakeholders in the nation’s future.

Barrister Abid Hussain concluded by saying: “Qamar Raza has set a new standard of leadership. His determination to fight for the rights of overseas Pakistanis is a beacon of hope. Under his guidance, overseas Pakistanis will continue to play a decisive role in strengthening Pakistan politically, economically, and socially. It is now the duty of the state to listen, to respond, and to act in the interest of this community whose love for Pakistan has never wavered.”
