CM Buzdar takes action against 15 officers over Murree tragedy

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar Wednesday announced the removal of 15 officers from their post as they were declared responsible for the Murree tragedy in the fact-finding inquiry report.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, an inquiry report on the Murree tragedy has been submitted to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar on Wednesday.
Later he held a press conference at the Chief Minister's Office and said he has fulfilled the promise of transparent inquiry into the Murree tragedy and action against those responsible.
He said 15 officers including Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, CPO, AC Murree and other officers have been removed from their posts.
Bazdar said the action was being taken against 15 officers in the recommendations of the inquiry committee. He said Commissioner Rawalpindi Division has been sent to the Federal Government and it was also recommended to suspend him.
Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi has also been recommended to suspend and take disciplinary action against him, he said adding that AC Murree has been suspended and disciplinary action has been ordered.
He said it has been recommended to remove CPO Rawalpindi from office and suspend his services by handing him over to the federal government and taking disciplinary action.
While ASP Murree has also been removed from his post and his services have been handed over to the federal government, he said adding that it has been recommended to suspend him and take disciplinary action.
CTO Rawalpindi, DSP Traffic, SE Highways Circle to Rawalpindi, Axin High Rawalpindi, Axin Highway Mechanical Rawalpindi, SDO Highway Mechanical Murree, Divisional Forest Officer Murree, District Emergency Officer Murree, Incharge Murree Rescue 1122, PDMA Punjab director have also been suspended and disciplinary action has been ordered against them.
The Chief Minister said the tragedy in Murree was tragic and extremely painful in every respect.
Provincial Law Minister Raja Muhammad Basharat and Punjab government spokesman Hassan Khawar were also present on the occasion.
