The boy and the girl, who were harassed and tortured by a man named Usman Mirza, in an apartment in sector E-11 of Islamabad, finally appeared in a local court on Wednesday after earlier refusing to pursue the case further, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani, who is hearing the case, ordered all irrelevant persons present inside the courtroom, including journalists, to leave and asked Asad Raza and Sundas (the victims) to come inside.

Then on judge orders, video of the incident was played.

Prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas then cross-examined Asad, who told him that he was only intermediate, and that presently he was jobless. “I had a property business at the time when the incident took place,” he said, adding that later he had to leave it.

Now, he added, his financial condition was quite bad so much so that his parents were now bearing his expenses. “I visited Golra police station four or five times after the incident; police did not get my statement recorded; they only made me to sign a piece of paper,” he told.

Referring to his affidavit in which he had said that the characters in the video were not those who had tortured him and his girl friend Sundas, the prosecutor asked him whether he remembered what happened on that day. “Yes, I do remember that incident,” the victim boy replied.

Then the prosecutor asked him to share with the court details of the incident.

Later, when counsels for suspects in the case questioned the victim girl, she insisted that she had already given her statement in which she had said that she knew nothing about those seen in the video. “When I have already made everything clear, then why am I being pressurized?” she questioned.

The video of a hooligan named Usman Mirza had gone viral a few months ago, in which he could be seen harassing and torturing a couple at a flat in Islamabad along with his accomplices.

The incident, which had happened earlier, led to indignation and resentment in the nation, which called for tougher penalties for the culprits.
