Over Rs27 will be charged as tax on Rs100 mobile phone card

The government has slapped over 27 rupees tax on a Rs100 mobile phone card, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday, quoting its sources.
According to the sources, the government will now charge Rs13.04 as withholding tax from the consumers while Rs14.19 will be deducted as sales tax from the consumers.
The sources further said that the withholding tax on a Rs100 mobile phone card has been raised to 15 percent from 10 percent whereas the sales tax will be 19.5 percent.
The consumers will not get Rs72.77 from Rs100 mobile phone card.
