Radio Pakistan ex-director Yawar Mehdi passes away in Karachi

Former director of Radio Pakistan Yawar Mehdi passed away in Karachi on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

His funeral prayers will be offered at the Super Highway graveyard in Karachi. The deceased left behind his wife, four sons and three daughters.

Yawar Mehdi was the founder of the famous PTV show Bazm-e-Talaba.

As a station director for Radio Karachi, Yawar Mehdi launched programmes like ‘Adabi mahakma’, ‘World Cricket Quiz’, ‘Custom Kay Qavaneen’, ‘Daramdaat Baramdaat’, ‘Abr Kia Cheez Hai Hawa Kia Hai’, ‘Aap Pe Guftgu Karain’, ‘Shab Ko Hai Ganjeenayay Gohar Khola’, ‘Behtareen Kitab’, ‘Autograph Book’, ‘Meri Dairy’, ‘Meri Tehqeeq’, ‘Aqwalay Danish’, ‘Muslman Sayyah’, ‘Mulaqaat’, ‘Lafz Sazi’, ‘Filbadeeh Mushaira’, ‘Marhumeen Ka Mushaira’, ‘Subho Dum Darwazayay Khawar Khula’,  and ‘Pehchan Pe Hai Naz tu Pehchan Jayeeyay’.
