Five terrorists killed in CTD operation in Quetta

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday killed five terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Quetta, officials said.

According to CTD sources, the operation was conducted following credible intelligence about the presence of terrorists belonging to a banned organization. During the exchange of fire, five terrorists were killed.

CTD officials said a large cache of weapons was recovered from the slain militants, including five submachine guns (SMGs), seven hand grenades and three motorcycles.

Authorities revealed that the terrorists were planning attacks on security forces and civilians along the Quetta–Sibi National Highway. The operation successfully foiled the planned terrorist activities.

Further investigation is underway, while security in the area has been tightened following the operation.
