Robber with Rs10m bounty on head surrenders to police in Kacha area

In a major breakthrough during the ongoing Kacha operation, notorious robber Wahab Lund, who was carrying a head money of Rs 10 million, surrendered to police along with 18 of his accomplices, officials announced on Monday.

Addressing a press conference at Circle Bangla Acha, DPO Irfan Sammo and Rajanpur DPO Muhammad Imran said the surrender marked a significant success in the police crackdown against criminal gangs operating in the Kacha area.

DPO Muhammad Imran said that 18 most-wanted robbers, including the heads of various gangs, laid down their arms during the operation. Among them was Wahab Lund, who had a reward of Rs100 million on his head, and Shahidin Lund, a notorious criminal wanted with a bounty of Rs5 million.

The surrendered robbers were wanted in multiple serious cases, including the martyrdom of police personnel, murder, kidnapping, and armed robberies, the DPO said. He added that all those who surrendered would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.

Officials revealed that a day earlier, 11 robbers had surrendered to police along with their weapons. With the latest development, the total number of criminals who have surrendered during the Kacha operation has risen to 29.

DPO Imran said a large-scale police operation is currently underway in Kacha Karachi and Kacha Imrani areas. Law enforcement agencies are using modern technology, including drones, to identify and target criminals’ hideouts.

So far, seven hideouts of robbers have been destroyed, while several criminals have been seriously injured during the operation, he said.

Issuing a clear warning, police officials said remaining criminals have been given a final opportunity to surrender, otherwise strict action will be taken against them as the operation continues.
