Moonis Elahi takes oath as federal minister

PML-Q leader Member National Assembly Chaudhry Moonis Elahi took oath as a federal minister on Monday. President Dr Arif Alvi administered the oath at Aiwan-e-Sadr (President’s House), 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by some selective parliamentarians and senior officials following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) especially using masks and maintaining social distance to avoid COVID-19.
The ceremony started with the national anthem and reciting of holy verses of Qura’an. Later, Moonis, a son of Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervez Elahi took the oath as a new member of the cabinet of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Moonis Elahi, 45, belongs to the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid group) that is a part of the collation government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the center and province of Punjab.
He received a BBA degree in 1999 from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He was elected National Assembly member as a candidate of PML-Q from Constituency NA-69 (Gujrat-II) in the by-election held on 14 October 2018.
