US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad reached Islamabad on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources told 24News that in his meetings with Pakistan’s political and military leadership, Zalmay would discuss with them the prospects of reconciliation in Afghanistan besides other matters.

Restoration of peace and reconciliation between different segments of Afghan society has again become a concern for the world following the US troops’ withdrawal from the country during the last few months.

On the other hand, the rise of Taliban has also made the world worried as they continue to seize one territory after another and the militant group’s unwillingness to make a settlement with other parties to the Afghan dispute.
