Karachi-bound bus catches fire on Motorway in Sukkur

A fire suddenly broke out in a bus of a private company going from Multan to Karachi on M5 Motorway in Sukkur on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a Motorway spokesperson, on receiving information of fire in a bus, Admin Officer Sukkur Motorway Mohammad Usman Shabbir along with staffers rushed to the spot immediately.

The spokesperson said that lives of all 55 passengers and crew members were saved by their timely action.

Sector Commander Abdul Waheed Rabbani also reached the spot and personally supervised the operation, spokesperson said.

The fire apparently broke out due to a short circuit. However, quick action was taken with the help of fire extinguishers to save precious human lives, said spokesperson.

The spokesperson said that passengers' luggage was saved to a great extent.
