Taylor Swift’s father undergoes emergency quintuple bypass as Travis Kelce steps in to support

Taylor Swift’s father, Scott Swift, is recovering after undergoing an unexpected quintuple bypass surgery, a sudden health scare that has deeply affected the Swift family and brought the pop icon even closer to her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce.

According to DailyMail, the 73-year-old’s condition was discovered during what was supposed to be a routine medical check-up. Doctors found a serious issue that required immediate action.

“The doctor found something, and everything happened so fast. But they took care of it,” a source close to the family shared.

The news came as a shock, particularly to Taylor, who has long been focused on her mother Andrea Swift’s health. Andrea, now 67, has bravely battled both breast and brain tumours in recent years.

“Taylor has been so concerned with her mother's health struggles over the years that her focus was only on her. Her dad was always in great shape,” the insider added.

During the family emergency, Travis Kelce reportedly proved to be a source of strength and comfort. Sources say the NFL tight end “went into total caregiver mode,” supporting Taylor emotionally and logistically from checking in on Scott to handling meals.

“This was their first crisis together and Travis was doing everything right,” the source added. “If Taylor wasn’t ready to marry him before, she sure is now. They were in love before, but now it seems unbreakable.”

Kelce was also reportedly added to the Swift family group chat, a gesture seen as a significant sign of trust and approval.

Taylor has always shared a close bond with her father, who played a pivotal role in her early career. A former Merrill Lynch stockbroker, Scott Swift helped guide her initial business decisions and contributed to building her $1.6 billion empire.

He’s even made subtle appearances in her music. In All Too Well, Taylor sings, “You, who charmed my dad with self-effacing jokes,” and her 2024 track But Daddy, I Love Him reflects her strong emotional connection to him.

Earlier this year, Scott also reportedly played a protective role in Taylor’s legal dispute involving former close friend Blake Lively, allegedly helping shield his daughter from invasive legal tactics,  a claim Lively’s camp has denied. The fallout strained the once-tight friendship.
