FIA launches crackdown on petrol pumps in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas over stockpiling

Amid stock piling and supply disruption concerns, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and district administration launched a crackdown on petrol pumps in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas districts of Sindh on Sunday.

In Hyderabad, authorities sealed a petrol pump after its administration refused to sell fuel despite availability of sufficient stock.

The district administration also initiated an inquiry into another PSO (Pakistan State Oil) filling station after irregularities were found in its records.

Another petrol pump on Digri Road was sealed for remaining closed, while a separate pump was fined Rs50,000 for violating regulations. Officials said operations against those involved in hoarding, profiteering, and creating an artificial fuel shortage will continue.

FIA officials directed all filling stations that uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to the public should be ensured in all circumstances.
