Imran Khan's sister called by NCCIA after remarks on 'Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos'

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has issued a notice summoning Noreen Niazi, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, over her controversial remarks on social media regarding the Pakistan Army and the military operation referred to as "Maarka-e-Haq".

According to the notice, Noreen Niazi has been directed to appear before the NCCIA at 12:00pm on July 20 at its Islamabad office.

The agency stated that an inquiry is being conducted into the alleged dissemination of false and derogatory statements against state institutions through social media.

The notice warns that failure to appear may be treated as an indication that she has no defence to present in the matter.

The summons comes a day after Noreen Niazi made controversial statements about Maarka-e-Haq and the Pakistan Army during a public appearance.

In her remarks, she alleged that the military operation was carried out in coordination with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming it was a staged event.

She also made allegations linking the operation to Israel and claimed there had been efforts to secure Pakistan's recognition of Israel and promote the Abraham Accords.

Noreen Niazi further alleged that the operation was intended to enhance the image of the Pakistan Army and claimed there had been contacts between Pakistan and Israel.

The NCCIA has not commented on the substance of the allegations but said the inquiry relates to the alleged publication and promotion of content considered false and defamatory against state institutions.

The investigation is ongoing.
