Marriyum Aurangzeb highlights PML-N's development agenda, campaigns for AJK elections in Rawalpindi

Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Sunday visited the ongoing development projects and new construction works in Raja Bazaar, where she received a warm welcome from party workers and supporters amid fireworks and a public rally.

Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, MNA Tahira Aurangzeb, Daniyal Chaudhry and other Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders accompanied the senior minister during the visit.

Addressing the rally, Marriyum Aurangzeb highlighted the Punjab government's development initiatives and urged voters in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to support the PML-N in the upcoming elections.

She said that major projects in Rawalpindi, including the hospital, Kutchery Chowk development and Metro Bus system, were the result of the vision of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. She added that the provincial government's "Clean Punjab" campaign and the introduction of environmentally friendly green buses reflected its commitment to public welfare.

Marriyum said Punjab had become a model province, with its development initiatives earning recognition internationally. She pointed to projects such as model villages, laptop distribution among students, Safe City programmes across all tehsils of Punjab and housing schemes under which, she claimed, around 200,000 homeless families had been provided homes.

She also announced that Nawaz Sharif had pledged to establish a cancer hospital in Rawalpindi, while describing the Rawalpindi Ring Road project as another landmark initiative for the region.

Paying tribute to Pakistan's leadership, she praised the country's Field Marshal, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and the people of Pakistan for their contributions and efforts in serving the nation.

Turning to the upcoming AJK elections, Marriyum Aurangzeb said development projects initiated by the PML-N were visible across Kashmir. She urged voters to ask rival political parties to present their own performance, saying the PML-N had a proven record of delivering development.

She said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was working to strengthen Pakistan's economy and improve the country's future. Appealing to the people of Azad Kashmir, she said they should support the "lion" election symbol to ensure development in the region similar to that witnessed in Punjab.

Recalling her childhood visits to Raja Bazaar with her mother and aunt, Marriyum Aurangzeb said the market had undergone a remarkable transformation under the Punjab government's beautification drive. She added that improved infrastructure had boosted commercial activity and fulfilled the promises made by Maryam Nawaz to traders and residents.

Concluding her speech, the senior minister led slogans in support of Kashmir, Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and the country's leadership, reaffirming the PML-N's commitment to development and public service.
