Pakistani athletes win six medals at South Asian Karate Championship

WAPDA Pakistani athletes delivered an impressive performance at the 10th South Asian Karate Championship, winning six medals while representing Pakistan at the regional event held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, reported 24NewsHD TV on Sunday.

According to the channel report, the five-day championship brought together top karate athletes from across South Asia, with Pakistan's contingent producing a strong medal-winning display.

Meer Hamza Kasi emerged as one of the standout performers, claiming the gold medal in the Under-21 category. He also secured a bronze medal in the senior 75kg category, completing an outstanding campaign.

Meer Wais Khan won the silver medal in the 61kg category, adding to Pakistan's medal tally.

WAPDA's female athletes also made a significant contribution to the team's success. Hafiza Iqra Munawar claimed a bronze medal in the 45kg category, while Rabia Farooq earned bronze in the 50kg division. Laiba Zia also secured a bronze medal in the 55kg category.

The WAPDA Sports Board congratulated the athletes on their outstanding achievements, praising their performances for bringing pride to both the organisation and Pakistan on the regional stage.
