Two Pakistani climbers summit Nanga Parbat, raise national flag

Two young Pakistani mountaineers from Hushe Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan's Ghanche district have successfully summited Nanga Parbat (8,126 metres), the world's ninth-highest mountain, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.

Ali Aman Hushevi and Ilyas Hushevi reached the summit and proudly hoisted the national flag, bringing international recognition to Pakistan and their native Hushe Valley, which is renowned for producing some of the country's finest climbers and high-altitude porters.

Ali Aman Hushevi, the nephew of internationally acclaimed Pakistani mountaineer Little Karim, has previously climbed several of the world's most challenging peaks, including K2 and Broad Peak.

After conquering Nanga Parbat, Ali Aman dedicated the achievement to the Pakistan Armed Forces and the country's martyrs, saying their sacrifices have enabled Pakistanis to pursue their dreams in peace and freedom.

He also reaffirmed his ambition to climb all of the world's 8,000-metre peaks in the future.
