The joint opposition on Friday called upon President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan to resign.
The demand came hours after the Supreme Court quashed a presidential reference against Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
The opposition parties said in a joint statement that the government filed a mala fide reference against an honourable judge of the Supreme Court to malign the higher judiciary.
Earlier on Friday evening, Special Assistant to PM on Accountability Shahzad Akbar said at a press talk that the Supreme Court did not say anywhere in the short judgement that the presidential reference was mala fide.
