PTI leader Jahangir Tareen rejected the reports of having a meeting with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in London, saying, “I neither have had a meeting with Nawaz Sharif nor wants to have one.”
According to 24NewsHD, Tareen, who is currently in London, said the PML-N media cell was spreading fabricated news against him and also claimed that his struggle was against the same people.
In statement, he also said that he wasn’t an opportunist politician and the developing differences with Prime Minister Imran Khan did not mean that he would sit with them (PML-N).
Tareen, who was once considered the closest confidant of the PTI chairman, described himself as a principled politician and said he worked for the party wholeheartedly. “It is not his mistake if some problems have developed there. I am sitting alone now,” he said and added that everything depended on Almighty Allah.
There have been speculations about the reasons behind Tareen leaving Pakistan for the UK and why the government allowed him to do so, especially after his alleged involvement in the sugar scam as described in the inquiry commission report.
But soon after reaching London, Tareen had claimed that the visit was for routine medical checkup.
