Govt removes BOI Chairman Atif Bokhari
The government has removed Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman Atif Bokhari from his seat, reported 24News HD TV channel on Saturday.
Atif Bokhari resigned from the chairmanship of the board on demand of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He is the third head of the board who has prematurely left the office during the tenure of the incumbent government.
According to the sources, the government is going to appoint a new chairman very soon and few names are under consideration in this regard.
However, according to the media reports, Bokhari said he resigned as BOI chairman purely because of personal reasons and will back to Karachi
He remained the chairman of the BOI for about 14 months. Prime Minister Imran Khan had appointed Bokhari as the BOI chairman in March last year and he joined the office in April. Bokhari had replaced Zubair Gilani.
