PML-N President and Opposition leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has decided to go to the court regarding his subpoena by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to sources, the PML-N president has decided to go to the Lahore High Court to challenge his summoning by the FIA.
Shehbaz has called the meeting of his legal team on Sunday (tomorrow) in the evening to discuss the matter. There will be two options before Shehbaz’s legal team: either the PML-N president will submit an application for interim bail or he will challenge his summoning by the FIA in the Lahore High Court.
The Federal Investigation Agency summoned PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif on June 22 for questioning regarding the sugar scandal. According to the FIA call-up notice, they had credible evidence of over Rs25 billion fraud case.
