Parliamentary leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the Senate, Senator Sherry Rehman, met President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday at the Aiwan-e-Sadr to discuss ongoing legislative and diplomatic matters, reported 24NewsHD TV.

During the meeting, Senator Rehman briefed the President on the Senate’s budget session, highlighting the PPP’s active involvement in parliamentary debates and legislative contributions. 

She reiterated the party's commitment to constructive dialogue and institutional development.

A major focus of the discussion was Pakistan’s diplomatic response during the recent crisis with India. Rehman shared details of the Coalition Joint Committee’s efforts, which she said effectively presented Pakistan’s peaceful and responsible stance at international forums.

According to Senator Rehman, the committee, under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, played a pivotal role in garnering international support for Pakistan’s position, showcasing political maturity and unity.

She expressed gratitude to both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Zardari for their unwavering confidence in the committee’s work.

President Zardari acknowledged and appreciated the diplomatic efforts of the coalition, commending the leadership for their role in enhancing Pakistan’s image globally. 

He also stressed the importance of continued strategic engagement to maintain the country's reputation as a peace-seeking and responsible state.
