Dar, Araqchi discuss regional situation after Islamabad memorandum

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and congratulated Iran and the United States on the signing of the "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding."

During the conversation, Dar conveyed his best wishes for the next phase of negotiations and expressed hope that the dialogue process would move forward successfully and produce positive results.

According to the details, the Iranian foreign minister acknowledged Pakistan's role in facilitating the Iran-US talks and said Islamabad had played an important mediating role during the negotiations.

Araqchi also appreciated Pakistan's constructive and continuous diplomatic efforts in support of the process.

The two foreign ministers discussed the overall regional situation and expressed concern over Israeli ceasefire violations in Lebanon.

During the conversation, the Iranian foreign minister thanked Pakistan for its cooperation in the repatriation of 30 Iranian nationals.

He said 22 Iranian staff members had been detained during a US operation and added that transit arrangements for the return of Iranian nationals were being made through Pakistan.

Both leaders agreed to maintain close contacts and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Iran.

They also reiterated their resolve to continue cooperation on issues of mutual interest and regional stability.
