Khawaja Asif says India’s war rhetoric reflects defeat frustration

Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that India’s recent war rhetoric is a reflection of its frustration following past setbacks, warning that Pakistan would respond even more forcefully to any future aggression, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.

Speaking in Islamabad, the minister said Pakistan remained fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and national interests.

He cautioned that any hostile action by India would be met with a stronger response than before.

Khawaja Asif also expressed concern over what he described as a proxy war being waged through Afghanistan, stressing that such activities are unacceptable.

He urged the Afghan authorities to take effective action against terrorist elements and prevent their territory from being used for activities that threaten regional security.

The defence minister further alleged that India is attempting to create unrest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, adding that provocative statements regarding Kashmir reflect New Delhi’s broader narrative on the long-standing dispute.

Khawaja Asif claimed that certain individuals based in the United Kingdom are promoting what he termed an Indian agenda.

He reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people of Kashmir and said residents of Indian-administered Kashmir continue to express their affiliation with Pakistan despite facing hardships.

The minister said Pakistan has made immense sacrifices for the Kashmir cause and praised the resilience of Kashmiris in the face of what he described as Indian oppression.

He also urged the people of Azad Kashmir to value the freedoms they enjoy.
