Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has expressed the hope and resolve of keeping trade and communication links with China open in the face of coronavirus challenge.

In an interview to China''s Global Times during his recent visit to Beijing, Qureshi said "the two great nations” have maintained transport and trade links despite the pandemic.

About the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the multi-billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, the minister said there was a temporary dip in the construction activities.

But he expressed hope things would get normal soon. He said he believed that the CPEC future was very bright not only for Pakistan and China but also the entire region.

The foreign minister said that China has shared its experience in fighting the deadly disease and sent teams to Pakistan to assess the situation. The neighbor has also provided testing kits “in thousands”.

Qureshi along with President Dr Arif Alvi visited China earlier this week to convey support and solidarity of Pakistan to the Chinese people and their government in the efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19.
