PM considering Buzdar’s removal as CM Punjab: Fawad
Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is considering the removal of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
In his conversation with the private channel on Saturday night, Fawad said that the government did not want to replace CM Buzdar, but due to the current situation, the premier is considering his replacement.
Last Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically refused to replace Usman Buzdar despite the demands of the opposition as well as some Pakistan Teheek-e-Insaf (PTI) estranged members like the Tareen and Aleem Khan groups.
To foil the opposition’s possible no-confidence move, there was a suggestion that Aleem Khan should replace Usman Buzdar in Punjab as powers-that-be also have no objection to working with Aleem Khan.
But, the PTI ally—Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) had rejected the PTI's offer to replace Usman Buzdar with Aleem Khan because the PML-Q itself wanted the seat of the chief minister in Punjab, and it wanted Usman Buzdar to continue occupying the seat otherwise.
Anyhow, within the next couple of days, the name of the new Punjab CM is expected.
