PTI serves show-cause notices on 14 party dissidents

Directs them to appear before PM by March 26 or face action

The ruling Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has issued show-cause notices to its 14 dissident members, directing them to appear before the prime minister and explain their positions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Those who were issued notices were: Raja Riaz, Noor Alam Khan, Afzal Dhandhla, Nawab Sher Waseer, Rana Qasim Noon, Ahmad Hussain Dahar, Ghaffar Wattoo, Basit Bukhari, Aamir Talal Gopang, Khawaja Shiraz, Sardar Riaz Mazari, Nuzhat Pathan, Rumesh Kumar and Wajiha Qamar.

The dissident lawmakers have been asked to appear before Prime Minister Imran Khan before 2:00 pm on March 26, 2022. In case of failure, an action under Article 63A will be initiated against them.

Earlier, the PTI has got signed show-cause notices by party’s Secretary General Asad Umar. 

It was decided in the PTI committee meeting held under the chair of Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday that the PTI’s rebel members would be served show-cause notice. 

The rebels have been asked to explain their positions in the notice. They have been given seven days to extend an unconditional apology and come back to the party fold. If they fail to submit their replies within seven days, then party will take action against them, the show-cause notice further read.
