SPI shows prices of 29 items go up this week
Inflation rate remains at 15.12 percent

The price of ghee has reached historic high as it has registered an increase of Rs27 per kg this week, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics issued a weekly report of inflation on Saturday according to which the inflation rate has remained 15.12% and prices of 29 items have increased this week.
According to the Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), the price of ghee has jumped to Rs462/kg after registering an increase of Rs27.
Mustard oil has become expensive by Rs5.61/litre; price of beef has registered an increase of 38 paisas; milk price is up by 25 paisas/litre and yogurt price got up by 14 paisas/litre.
The price of onion has seen an increase of 80 paisas/kg. Besides these, the rates of eggs, pulses, lentils and rice have also gone up.
Citizens are hard pressed by rising inflation and they are complaining that government has failed to control it.
The SPI is computed on weekly basis to assess the price movements of essential commodities at shorter interval of time so as to review the price situation in the country.
