Sargodha Police foil attempt to smuggle weapons

Sargodha Police on Sunday foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons and arrested two suspects in the limits of Jhal Chakian police station, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to police sources, the police had received a report of illegal arms and ammunition smuggling. The police taking action recovered a huge cache of arms being smuggled through a vehicle bearing fake official number plates.
As many as 20 rifles, 88 pistols, 35 magazines with 39850 bullets, 5 modern dragoon guns, and 13 Kalashnikov rifles were recovered from the possession of the two accused.
Police said that the suspects were working for a group of smugglers who attempted to smuggle arms and ammunition from Peshawar.
A case has been registered against the accused and an investigation has been started from different angles.
