John Abraham's 'The Diplomat' banned in Middle East

Bollywood actor John Abraham’s latest film 'The Diplomat' has been banned in the Middle East days after its release.

According to reports the ban was confirmed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar.

The film which was based on J. P. Singh, a real-life Indian Deputy High Commissioner in Pakistan, has been banned due to politically sensitive themes but the official reason for the ban has not been disclosed.

The filmmakers did not shared their concerns regarding the matter yet.

Previously, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 and Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force were also restricted in certain Middle Eastern nations for their controversial content. 

The movie was directed by Shivam Nair and written by Ritesh Shah.

The storyline of the film is based on the real-life efforts of Indian diplomat J.P. Singh in rescuing Uzma Ahmed, an Indian woman trapped in a forced marriage in Pakistan. The movie, which was released on March 14, 2025, delves into diplomatic tensions and international rescue missions.

Alongside John Abraham, the film features Sadia Khateeb and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles. Produced by T-Series, JA Entertainment, Wakaoo Films, and Fortune Pictures.

The Diplomat adds another powerful political drama to Abraham’s filmography.
