Punjab Govt rejects permission to PTI for March 22 rally

Amid security concerns, Punjab government has denied permission to PTI for public gathering in Lahore. PTI has requested local administration to allow it to hold a public rally at Minar-i-Pakistan on March 22. 

However, citing security threats, the local administration has decided to deny permission. Punjab government will submit its response in the Lahore High Court tomorrow regarding the decision to deny permission for the gathering. The Chief Secretary, IG, Home Secretary, Commissioner, and other officials will submit the response. Justice Farooq Haider will hear the petition filed by PTI leader Akmal Khan. On behalf of the Punjab government, Assistant Advocate General Muhammad Idrees Rafiq Bhatti will represent the case.

PTI has approached the Lahore High Court, seeking permission to hold a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on 22 March.
