Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meets in Islamabad today to sight Shawwal moon
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Islamabad today (Thursday) evening for the sighting of Shawwal moon, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chairman of the Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting.
The Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also meet at their respective headquarters for sighting of the moon.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the committee will convene after Asr prayers at approximately 5:30 pm on the rooftop of the Kohsar Block in Islamabad.
The announcement comes after Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court confirmed that the Shawwal moon was not sighted anywhere in the kingdom, meaning Ramadan will complete a full 30 days and Eid will be celebrated on Friday.

Any information regarding the sighting of the moon will be passed on to the committee through the listed contact numbers for a final announcement by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman.
