12,489 patients recovered as corona cases rise to 43,966

The coronavirus cases continued to surge in Pakistan as the total number of cases reached 43,966 with another 1,841 people testing positive for the virus while 36 more deaths were also recorded during the past 24 hours.
According to the updates of National Command and Operation Centre early Tuesday, the total number of coronavirus cases currently stands at 43,966 with the death toll reaching 939.
Meanwhile, there are 30,538 active cases in the country as 12,489 patients have so far fully recovered from the infection. As many as 342 patients are in critical condition.
Another 12,957 people were tested for the virus during the same period. It means that the total tests conducted since the outbreak of the pandemic has increased to 400,292.
As of Tuesday morning, 17,241 cases have been reported in Sindh, making it most affected region in the country. On the other hand, Punjab has 15,976 cases followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 6,230, Balochistan 2,820, Islamabad 1,034, Gilgit-Baltistan 550 and Azad Kashmir 115.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continued to have the biggest share in death toll as 334 people have so far died in the province. Sindh has 280 deaths followed by Punjab 273, Balochistan 38, Islamabad nine, Gilgit-Baltistan four and Azad Kashmir one.
As far as the details of the recovered patients is concerned, Punjab leads the list with 4,918 recoveries followed by Sindh 4,209, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,783, Balochistan 454, Gilgit-Baltistan 368, Islamabad 113 and Azad Kashmir 77.
