LHC upholds sentence of child pornography convict

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday upheld the sentence of accused Saadat Amin aka Uncle Manto in a child pornography video case.
Additional Attorney General Chaudhry Ishtiaq Khan presented the arguments on behalf of the federation.
Earlier, LHC on Thursday suspended sentence of the convicted man for being part of an international nexus of child pornographers and released him on bail.
A judicial magistrate had on April 26, 2018, awarded seven-year imprisonment to Saadat Amin of Sargodha under section 22 of Prevention of Electronic Crime Act 2016 and also imposed a fine of Rs1.2 million on him.
Asif Iqbal Chaudhry Assistant Director, Cybercrime wing of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) tweeted, “The Lahore High Court (LHC) today upheld the sentence of accused Saadat Amin alias Uncle Manto in a child pornography video case.”

It is pertinent to note that FIA’s cybercrime cell arrested Amin on the complaint of Norwegian embassy during 2017. The convict had engaged children having age of 10 to 12 years and used to transfer their pornographic pictures/videos outside the country to earn money.
