Major League Cricket bags $120 million to aid US growth

Major League Cricket (MLC) closed its $44 Million Series A and A1 funding rounds, with an additional $76 million over the next 12 months.
The MLC would be the first professional cricket league Twenty20 in the United States - a short and fast form of cricket that was introduced to the professional ranks in England in the early 2000s.
The league will officially start the matches in 2023.
In collaboration with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, the latest MLC funding round will allow the league to expand its reach into the world's second most popular sports in the growing US sports market. Tanweer Ahmed is the only Pakistani - American businessman who is a part of this initiative and getting praised by the pakistani community in the US. Keeping in mind Tanweer Ahmed is the owner of the largest cricket stadium of USA.
$120 million will be invested mainly to build stadiums and training centres. It will also facilitate the hosting of global cricket events in the United States over the next decade.
MLC is growing to go beyond investing in cricket nations. The Knight Riders Group, which owns the Kolkata Knight Riders of the Indian Premier League (IPL), is reported to be investing around $16 million to build a 10,000-seat cricket stadium in Southern California. According to recent reports team Mumbai Indians has also signed up for MLC.
