Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has strongly refuted rumours about bringing a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Monday.

According to the channel report, speaking to the media in Islamabad, Gohar said that the news regarding a no-confidence motion against the prime minister, National Assembly Speaker, and the deputy speaker is entirely fake and fabricated.

“We have neither held any such meeting nor is there any such agenda,” he clarified, adding, “But I will say this—things must change.”

Referring to the recent ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, Gohar remarked, “Everything changed in just one week; a ceasefire was reached with India. Now, a similar ceasefire should take place with PTI.”

He questioned the ongoing imprisonment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, stating, “How long will you keep the most popular leader of the country in jail? Imran Khan must be released. What is his crime? All the cases against him are baseless.”

He emphasised that Imran Khan should not be released on parole but granted full freedom. “These harsh conditions must now come to an end,” Gohar asserted.

In a sharp critique, Gohar added, “You put the parents in jail and ask the children to show up at functions. If we’re supporting you, then you should support us too.”

He urged everyone to support the call for PTI founder Imran Khan’s release, stating, “This is a request to all—Khan must be freed.”

Regarding political dialogue with the government, Gohar mentioned that while talks are necessary, currently no negotiations are underway.
