Couple dies as roof of house collapses in Mardan

A man and his wife died, and their son was critically wounded when the roof of their dilapidated house collapsed due to the heavy rain in Mardan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to details, the roof of the house, located in Loond Khorh area of Mardan, suddenly caved in during rain, burying a man, his wife, and son under the debris while they were sleeping.

Police and Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and started the rescue operation with the help of residents. The rescue teams retrieved the dead bodies of the couple from the rubble and pulled out their son in an injured condition.

Later, the rescue teams shifted the dead and injured to a nearby hospital. The deceased were identified as 60-year-old Shah Wazir and his wife. The injured was identified as 18-year-old Siddique.
