ECC approves Rs3.91b for Youth Skills, grants for health, Railways and food safety

The Economic Coordination Committee on Tuesday approved a series of financial allocations and policy decisions at a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb.

The committee approved more than Rs3.91 billion for the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Program. It also decided to establish Danish Schools in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan.

The ECC authorized the release of Rs160 million for repair and maintenance work at the Prime Minister’s Office. It also approved Rs480 million for FCKP North Hospital shocks and a technical supplementary grant of Rs1.5 billion for the Health Facilitation Program.

The committee increased the monthly living allowance for Kashmiri refugees from Rs3,500 to Rs6,000.

An allocation of Rs1 billion was approved for Pakistan Railways under the Prime Minister’s Assistance Package, while another Rs1 billion was cleared for the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority.

The ECC also granted in-principle approval for restructuring the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation and selling 30% of its shares.

In addition, the committee approved the Gemstone Policy 2026–2030.
