Pakistan invites bids to privatize FESCO, GEPCO and IESCO

The Privatization Commission of Pakistan has invited expressions of interest for the privatization of three major power distribution companies — Faisalabad Electric Supply Company, Gujranwala Electric Power Company and Islamabad Electric Supply Company.

According to commission spokesperson Imran Ghaznavi, the government is offering private and foreign investors the opportunity to acquire between 51% and 100% shares along with management control of the utilities.

The three companies collectively supply electricity to more than 14 million consumers across their respective service areas, the spokesperson said.

The last date for submission of applications for FESCO has been set for July 7, 2026. Expressions of interest for GEPCO must be submitted by August 6, 2026, while the deadline for IESCO is September 7, 2026.
