Punjab CM Naqvi urges people to wear facemasks for week
Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday said that in view of deteriorating air quality, the Punjab government had made wearing of facemasks mandatory for a period of one week, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In his message on X, previously Twitter, he said that prioritizing health was a collective responsibility of the provincial government and the people. “Please follow the guidelines in order to keep the community safe,” he asserted.

It is worth-mentioning here that different cities of Punjab, especially Lahore, have been in the grip of intense smog for the last several weeks, prompting the provincial government to announce measures such as declaring Saturday an off-day at schools and making wearing of facemasks mandatory.
