Members of new AJK cabinet assigned portfolios

The newly formed Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) cabinet has completed the formal allotment of departments to all ministers, marking a significant step in operationalizing the region’s latest government.

Following the distribution of portfolios, ministers have officially assumed charge and begun overseeing their respective departments.

According to the notification, Mian Abdul Waheed has been appointed senior minister, entrusted with two major portfolios — the Law Department and the Power Development Organization (PDO) — both central to governance and infrastructure.

In a cabinet featuring a blend of seasoned politicians and rising leaders, the following key appointments were made:

1. Syed Bazal Naqvi – Minister of Health
2. Javed Ayub – Minister for Forests
3. Ch. Rashid – Minister of Finance
4. Dewan Ali – Minister for Education (Schools)
5. Rafiq Nayyar – Minister of Information & IT
6. Ali Shan Soni – Minister for Food
7. Javed Badhanvi – Minister for Rehabilitation and Agriculture
8. Qasim Majeed – Minister for Planning and Land Revenue
9. Yasir Sultan – Minister of Housing
10. Ch. Arshad – Minister of Electricity (Power)
11. Zia Al-Qamar – Minister for Public Works (P.W.D)
12. Fahim Rabbani – Minister for Tourism and Industries
13. Muhammad Hussain – Minister for Ushr and Zakat
14. Akhlaq Mal – Minister for Revenue/Excise
15. Malik Zafar – Minister of Education (Colleges)
16. Aamir Yasin – Minister for Local Government
17. Ahmed Saghir – Minister for Prisons
18. Fahad Yaqub – Minister for Sports, Youth and Culture

With the reallocation process now complete, the cabinet has started its day-to-day administrative work across all sectors.
