PM Shehbaz hosts luncheon for tri-nation cricket teams in Islamabad

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a luncheon at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad on Wednesday in honour of the cricket teams participating in the ongoing Tri-Nation Series.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the event was attended by key government officials, diplomats and cricket administrators, including Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the Sri Lankan High Commissioner and the Zimbabwean High Commissioner.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Federal Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi were also present.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister praised the spirit, skill and commitment displayed by the teams from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

The PM said the players had demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and mutual respect, setting an example that should inspire the younger generation.

He expressed confidence that cricket would further strengthen friendship and cooperation among the three nations.

Shehbaz Sharif commended the PCB for successfully organising the tournament under the leadership of Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, highlighting the board’s effective planning, professional management and high-quality arrangements.

He added that the continued hosting of international cricket in Pakistan reflected the country’s positive image, as well as its environment of peace and stability.

The Prime Minister said the Tri-Nation Series would offer fans top-tier cricketing action and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to hosting international teams in the future.

He expressed hope that such events would continue to promote goodwill, sporting exchange and regional collaboration.
