Quetta’s two popular restaurants sealed for tax evasion

The Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) on Wednesday sealed two popular restaurants in Quetta for dodging tax, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The action was taken against Takato Restaurant and Khyber Shinwari Restaurant for violating the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Act. 

This move is part of a broader campaign against tax evaders, initiated on the instructions of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Ahmad Bugti.

According to a BRA spokesperson, the authority had repeatedly sent legal notices to the restaurants about their tax liabilities and provided them with multiple opportunities to settle their dues. 

However, the establishments of the restaurants failed to make the required payments, leading to the decisive legal action of sealing their premises.

The operation was carried out by a BRA team with the cooperation of the local Assistant Commissioner and police, following the vision of the Chief Minister and the directives of the BRA Chairperson.

The BRA has issued a stern warning to all other service providers in the province, directing them to ensure the timely payment of sales tax. 

The authority has made it clear that any failure to comply will result in strict legal action
