SC transfers over 22,000 cases to Federal Constitutional Court

As the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) has begun working following the passage of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, the Supreme Court (SC) has transferred over 22,000 cases to the newly established court, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Quoting its sources, the channel reported that the cases covered by Article 184/3 and review petitions had been transferred to the FCC.

Similarly, appeals filed against the high courts’ verdicts under Article 199 had also been transferred to the FCC, they revealed.

Sources added that the number of cases, which would be transferred to the constitutional court, could exceed 25,000.

They At present, over 56,000 cases are pending in the apex court, they informed.
