LHC issues notice to finance department for doctors’ allowance
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued a notice to the Punjab Finance Secretary and sought a response within two weeks regarding the non-practicing allowance to doctors.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh on Wednesday passed the order while hearing a petition against the health department for not giving non-practicing allowance to doctors.
Young Doctors Association’s counsel pleaded that the government is not obeying its promises for giving non-practicing allowance to doctors. The Supreme Court has also issued an order in this regard, he added. It is requested that the court order the government to implement the decision of the Supreme Court.
The lawyer of the health department said that the issue of providing an allowance to the doctors is pending with the Punjab Finance Department. On this, the court issued a notice to the Punjab Finance Secretary and asked for a response within two weeks.
