The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Wednesday to have arrested two wanted terrorists of North Waziristan, who reached Islamabad to carry out terrorist attacks.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the CTD and intelligence agencies conducted a raid at the Sangjani area of Islamabad and arrested two wanted terrorists.
The terrorists including Hamza alias Ghazi and Sher Alam alias Umar who hailed from North Waziristan were planning to conduct terrorist activities in the federal capital city. A case has been registered against both the terrorists, CTD said.
According to the first information report, the terrorists were planning attacks on Islamabad Capital Police, political leaders, law enforcement agencies, and political gatherings and activities in the future.
These terrorists were involved in the terrorist attack on Pak Army at the Hazuni check post and many similar operations.
A terrorist Ghazi received terrorist training from Afghanistan about two months ago. He moved to Bannu with his family during operation Zarb-e-Azb and stayed there for two years. He backed to his native town in 2016. In 2021, Ghazi came to the federal capital and started serving in a security company as a security card.
The other terrorist Sher Alam is a resident of Peshawar, who joined the Mulla Nabi group. Later, he joined Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Afghanistan.
The CTD recovered a large number of explosives and weapons from the possession of the two terrorists during the operation.
