HIV cases among children surge in Nawabshah

There has been a worrying surge in HIV cases among children in Nawabshah, with the Sindh Health Department confirming more than 100 new infections reported since July, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.

Health officials have attributed the rapid spread of the virus to the operations of unregistered blood banks, unqualified medical practitioners, and unsafe blood transfusions conducted without proper screening.

In response to the alarming situation, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho has taken notice of the issue and directed authorities to launch a strict crackdown. Orders have been issued for the arrest of quack doctors and the immediate sealing of illegal blood banks operating in the region.

The health department has also begun strengthening monitoring mechanisms to ensure that blood transfusions and medical procedures adhere to safety protocols, aiming to prevent any further spread of the virus.
