PCB and Beaconhouse sign scholarship agreement for young cricketers
Three-year education partnership aims to support 120 talented players across 16 regions
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has signed a formal agreement with Education Services Limited (Beaconhouse) to provide academic scholarships to emerging cricketers across the country, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
The signing ceremony, held at the PCB headquarters in Lahore, was attended by senior officials from both organisations. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi participated as the chief guest, while PCB’s Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed and Beaconhouse CEO Qasim Kasuri signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
Under the three-year agreement, 120 outstanding cricketers from the Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19 categories will be offered fully funded educational scholarships. These players will be selected from all 16 regional cricket zones of Pakistan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mohsin Naqvi praised Beaconhouse’s commitment to youth development and termed the partnership a significant step in ensuring a secure and balanced future for Pakistan’s upcoming cricket stars.
“Young cricketers will now be able to focus on their studies alongside their sporting careers,” said Naqvi. “This initiative will have long-lasting effects, helping meet the educational needs of future cricket icons. Without a doubt, this partnership guarantees a better future for our young talent.”
Naqvi added that the scope of the scholarship programme will be further expanded in the coming years to reach more deserving players, making it a cornerstone of PCB’s youth development agenda.
The ceremony was also attended by Pakistan’s white-ball head coach Mike Hesson, Director of Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi, GM Domestic Junaid Zia, Beaconhouse COO Ali Ahmed Khan, AD Operations Faisal Nisar, GM Syeda Iram Naqvi, and Manager Sports Tania Malik.
